Dubai, UAE –

This unique installation is part of the development of the world’s largest shopping mall complex. The mall houses an Olympic-sized skating rink. The Dubai Mall project comprises a five million square foot mall, and residential and retail facilities. The actual mall will cover the equivalent of 50 international-sized soccer pitches and will be the largest shopping space in the world, larger than any existing malls in the USA. When completed in 2008, it is expecting to receive 35 million visitors in the first full year of business, followed by annual increases of 20%–30. The EventDeck Ice will enable the facility to convert to a true multi-purpose venue for hosting all types of events without having to melt their ice. This mall is part of the world's largest retail development (over five million ft²) alongside Burj Dubai (Dubai Tower). Burj Dubai is expected to be the world's tallest building when it is completed in 2008-9 (although there are a lot of contenders for the title).

The Burj Dubai is designed to be at the centre of a large mixed development including 30,000 homes, 9 hotels, 6 acres of parkland, 19 residential towers, and the 12hectare Burj Dubai Lake. The whole development including the Burj Dubai and the Dubai Mall is expected to cost about US$8 billion.

Our team worked closely with the contractor on this project and provided detailed information about the characteristics of the EventDeck Ice floor system. Our company was excited to be selected as the flooring of choice for this enormously high-profile project.

Samara, Russia –

The EventDeck Ice system is in use regularly at the home court of EuroCup winner CSK VVS Samara, the Palace of Sport CSK. The Palace of Sport is a 3,500 seat arena that plays host to over 20 basketball games and other on-court events per year. The EventDeck Ice System was chosen as the perfect system for this facility due to the large number of changeovers, the speed of changeover requirement and the durability of the system. Basketball floors, scorer’s tables, and other equipment is installed over the flooring, which provides a firm support base for this championship team’s home games.

CSK VVS Samara (BK Samara) is a Russian professional basketball club, based in Samara, Russia. This facility was formally patronized by the Russian Air Forces (VVS) team. The home team is a 2-time bronze medalist 1997, 1998. In 2007 Samara won the EuroCup Challenge.

Signature was honored that the EventDeck Ice modular ice arena conversion flooring was chosen as the flooring of choice for this well known Russian facility.
